About “Take Flight Continuing Education Scholarship Program”™

Media Network and its parent company Flight Community Services, Inc. are committed
to building the pipeline of future African American leaders.
The scholarship program is designed to encourage students to pursue higher learning at junior colleges, colleges, universities, or professional trade schools on the path to making a positive impact on society and becoming an instrumental leader that gives back to the African American community.
Students are awarded scholarships in recognition of their passion for uplifting the African American community, academic performance, and communicated interest in making a positive difference in the community.
By advocating for and raising the conscience of the African American community, while celebrating its accomplishments, Flight Community Services views the “Take Flight Continuing Education Scholarship Program” as a natural progression toward educating and unifying its community while contributing to the well being of African American youth and families.
Flight Community Services, Inc. - a 501(c)3 non-profit entity - is the parent company of CityFlight Media Network and sponsor of the “Take Flight Continuing Education Scholarship Program.”

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The scholarship program is open to Bay Area high school seniors and single parents (male and female). Stay tuned for information regarding the next application schedule.
Youth Scholarship Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Senior currently enrolled in a Bay Area high school
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
Adult Scholarship Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Single parent / head of household with minor children
- Demonstrate financial need
- Will be enrolled in a junior college, college, university or trade school for Fall 2004 term

Take Flight scholarship recipients are granted the following cash awards:

One first place recipient | $3,000 scholarship
One second place recipient | $1,000 scholarship
One third place recipient | $500 scholarship
Adult Scholarship Recipients
One first place recipient | $3,000 scholarship
